Do businesses that have no revenue have to file taxes?

Our Professional Answer:

All business entities whether or not they have revenue must file a tax return both federally and in the state where they are incorporated. The only real exemption is sole proprietorships which the law doesn’t treat as a separate entity. If you’re any kind of business entity, an LLC, corporation, you must file a tax return even if it’s zeros.
